When considering an Online Home Based Business Opportunity there are three actions that are necessary in order for you to be a success. Without mastering these three simple steps you will be overwhelmed with a flood of information that distracts you from your main goal...getting your product in front of potential customers and converting those customers to sales. So, how can you filter out all of the static and noise buzzing around you and drive traffic to your product converting them to dollars?

Focus was the first step on the way to success in any business. I covered this topic more extensively in a previous article, but the idea is to take advantage of the marketing options offered by your product company and narrow it down to ONE that fits your personality and learn all you can about it. You will need to set aside a certain amount of time per day to learning all you can.

Now you have a marketing plan and the time to make it work, it is time to implement it. The quality of work you put into the allotted time you have given yourself to elevate your business is what is defined as Effort. You would be surprised how many people who get through the first step have a hard time following through and putting in the required effort to make it work. They become easily distracted, do not dig deeper into their marketing and then become confused and start to look for something different. The cycle is repeated and they start to spiral down until they become so frustrated they give up or go bankrupt.

Focus has to be combined with Effort to laser in on your marketing strategies and time management in order to get the targeted training and coaching needed to get your business up and running. One of the most common distractions is email. Email can be a great marketing tool or a business killer. You could easily spend an hour or more going through and answering emails, that is a precious hour you could have used driving potential customers to your website. Unless your emails are furthering your sales, do not waste your time. Set a time limit going through your email, set a timer if you need to, and then stop when you hit that limit realizing that anything after is wasted time.

Focus your Effort on learning your marketing. Find a mentor, someone who has been successful with your strategy and has the insights and training you need to succeed. Sometimes it is someone in your upline or within your company or sometimes it is better to pay professionals to train you. There are many sources of Master Marketers who have proven track records in making money. Make sure you research them and find others who have gone through the training in order to see the results. Take advantage of them and learn all you can.

Once you do set up your campaign, launch it. Just flipping the switch can be a huge hurdle. You don't want to keep preparing to prepare, there will come a point where you have to jump in and start. The system can be so daunting and you want to be so perfect that it never gets launched. It is better to get your advertising out there and then adjust for any problems you come across.

Which brings us to testing. Test, test, test. In all forms of marketing testing one ad (article, email, newsletter, postcard, banner ad, etc.) against another is the most important aspect of growing your business. By tracking your ads and comparing the results against each other you are able to make informed decisions as to how to expand your advertising. You will learn what drives traffic to your product and what converts to sales.

Effort combined with Focus, then, becomes very important in creating a successful Online Home Based Business. Laser-like focused effort saves you both money and time, two precious commodities when you are first starting. With the final piece of the puzzle, Persistence, you will be able to expand your marketing techniques and be able to grow your business exponentially.
