Once women hit their third trimester, they usually begin to have some discomfort when it's time to try and get some sleep. Some women even begin to experience sleep difficulties in their second trimester. You may find support in just tucking a few extra pillows under your belly, back or in-between your legs. But, this may only work in the beginning of your pregnancy, or it may not work at all. If you, like many other pregnant women, are having a hard time getting a good nights sleep because you can't find a comfortable position or the right support for your growing belly, it's probably time to upgrade to a pregnancy pillow.

There are a few different assortments of pregnancy pillows available on the market. Most of them are body pillows, but there are also wedge pillows. Because there are a few different kinds of pregnancy pillows, it can be a bit difficult to choose the right pregnancy pillow for you, especially if you are just browsing them online. To begin with, they are not exactly cheap, and you don't want to buy one and then not like it or find it uncomfortable. Yet, you usually will find comfort in one of the different kinds of pregnancy pillows available and can also get more use out of it other than just from your pregnancy.

When choosing a pregnancy pillow you will need to think about what positions are comfortable for you to sleep in. It is recommended that you sleep on your left side while pregnant because it increases the flow of blood to the baby. But at times, especially in the earlier stages of pregnancy, that's not always going to happen. There are nights where the right side are more comfortable or you will wake up in the morning on your back. Again, you will want to consider what "style" of sleep you prefer and then choose your pillow accordingly. If you routinely sleep on your side, a wedge pillow may suffice. However, if you prefer to sleep on your back, sides, or stomach (which of course is basically impossible during the last stages of pregnancy), a body pillow may be your best option.
