Affiliate Marketing or Internet Based MLM?

You could pose this question to both types of marketer and you're obviously going to come up with some powerful testimonies as to the virtues of owning either. Is one better than the other? Again, a 50/50 split on opinion. Before I became active online, I had been involved in a couple of traditional offline Network Marketing opportunitys and decided to look online for a better marketing system. I signed up for a few affiliate marketers newsletters and started to do some research. While being a great way to market and sell a product online, what I found with affiliate marketing was there was no chance for a repeat sale until a new shopper made a purchase.

As I mentioned, I have a background in network Marketing and I've always liked the idea of earning a residual income after the original sale was made, so I was already a little biased. As you may have already guessed, I chose an online MLM opportunity.

Now this decision wasn't made lightly as I had become close to a couple of affiliate marketers who kindly walked me through the ins and outs of their business. These guys were earning regular 6 figure quarterly incomes. The reason I stuck with the online MLM was the fact that this business model would allow me to receive residual income which was not available to me as an affiliate marketer. Knowing the fact that I could put in the original effort and be paid over and over from that first sale, honestly, what could be better than that?!

At the end of the day I have an internet based MLM Business that has a fully automated marketing system that will provide me with an income for years and years to come. As an affiliate marketer, what would I have left at the end of the day? Not much more than a one time commission.
